The Nigerian military are expending a lot of resources and time in Sambisa Forest to secure the release of the remaining Chibok girls still in Boko Haram’s captivity, Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno state has disclosed.

President Muhammadu Buhari while receiving the rescued Chibok girl, her 4 months old baby and the family at the state House in Abuja.
Speaking on the backdrop of the rescue of one of the girls, Amina Ali-Nkeki, who was among the school girls kidnapped in a mass abduction by the Islamist terrorists, Boko Haram, Governor Shettima expressed confidence that the rest of the girls will soon be found, Vanguard reports.
“We believe that in the next coming week we shall recover the rest of the girls,”Shettima told reporters in Abuja on Thursday, May 19.
Adding that:”the military are expending a lot of resources and time in Sambisa Forest. I believe that in the days and weeks more recoveries will be made.”
In the same vein, President Mohammadu Buhari has said that the rescue of Amina Ali Nkeki has opened a window of new hope to Nigeria and an opportunity towards a vital information.
Buhari who sated this on Thursday, May 19, in Abuja while receiving the girl, her mother and her brother at the presidential villa, reassured Nigerians of his administration’s determination towards rescuing other girls who were still at large.
The president stated that Amina would be given the best care Nigerian government could offer, saying that her education would be the priority of the government.
In a related development, the southeast caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has hailed President Muhammadu Buhari, the Nigerian Army, the Civilian Joint Task Force and the Bring Back Our Girls group for their fortitude and resilience in ensuring the rescue of one of the abducted Chibok school girls, Amina Ali.
Speaking in Abuja, Osita Okechukwu, the spokesperson of APC southeast caucus also noted that the rescue of Amina Ali has put former first lady, Patience Jonathan and Governor Ayo Fayose to shame, The Punch reports.
Okechukwu explained that if President Buhari has remained indifferent like his predecessor, Goodluck Jonathan, the penetration of Sambisa forest would have been impossible.
