Dogara, NLC in crucial meeting

Yakubu Dogara, the speaker of the House of said he decided to venture into the matter due to its sensitivity with regards to Nigerians.
The leadership of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) is currently in a closed door meeting with speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, and his deputy, Yusuff Sulaimon Lasunm over the ongoing strike action
Daily trust reports that the meeting was facilitated by the House’s ad hoc committee on the deregulation of the downstream sector of the petroelum industry by the federal government.
The closed door meeting started around 6.25pm and the NLC president, Ayuba Wabba is leading the labour delegation to the talks with a view to arriving at an amicable position to the industrial action.
Speaking before he went into the closed door session, Yakubu Dogara said it became expedient for him to venture into the matter due to its sensitivity with regards to Nigerians.

Meanwhile, Ayuba Wabba has said the NLC will next week review the indefinite nationwide strike against the hike in fuel price.
He clarified that the NLC leadership will organise another meeting to review and evaluate the influence of the industrial action and see if the administration will change its decision to raise the pump price of petrol to N145.00 per litre.
